With fuzzy moments and a haunting atmosphere, JFDR have created a chilling masterpiece in their latest single, Destiny is Upon Us.

The track is oddly reminiscent of early works from The Knife, with a chilling beauty that lingers lightly. There is a subtle use of space in the production, with each note shimmering long past it’s initial moment, filling the piece with expansive sounds. The echo like effect has creates the feeling of being in a large room while experiencing an intimate moment.

The lyrical work, as sparse as it is, acts like a memory of lost friends. Full of beauty, but far from hope inspiring. It captivates, with each word cutting above the production to wrap around the mind. It is hard not to lose track of time within the track, but the lyrics set a certain time frame when present.

The piece is the fifth track off JFDR’s debut album to receive the video treatment, and offers more than enough reason to give the album Brazil a spin.
